Kismet Uzumaki, The Chain Warden(WIP)

Kismet Uzumaki, to understand the life of this man we first must understand the Uzumaki clan and one of there customs. The Shinigami worshiping Uzumaki clan, who sacrifice ones with strong Life-force to please the God of Death, the ritual undertaken by the clan head with the Shinigami mask and the Shinigami's Tanto as the medium for the ritual. It's a tradition and is considered a great honor to be sacrificed to the Shinigami. Loyal Uzumaki and True followers of the Shinigami would gladly give there life, not just to please the God of Death but to insure the continued existence of the Clan Head...Who would serve as the replacement if no sacrifice was brought forth.
Some Uzumaki forsaking honor and the Shinigami began fleeing from this fate, ensuring the Clan Heads death. This could not go unpunished and as this happened in greater number...
A prayer was made. A prayer to the Shinigami by the pregnant cousin of the Clan Head, take her child to be born under the sign of Death and make him the courier of the Shinigami's will. Save the Clan Head and ensure the pact of old be kept, punish the traitors and bring them forth for the sacrifice...Bind them with chains of Pain and dishonor and drag them back and let this sign bear the will of the Shinigami, let this Child be the avatar of your will and the defender of the Uzumaki Clans traditions.

Two days later, the child was born and bore black scalera and crimson irises. A sign from the God of Death, this child born under the sign of Death was to be the one to carry out the Will of the Shinigami. To ensure the Sacrifice is made, to protect the Clan Head and there Kin. To ensure the Clan Uzumaki prospers and never forget there traditions.
This child was the first Chain Warden of the Uzumaki Clan.
From there day forth, once every thirty years, a child would be born under the sign of Death would be handed over to the previous Warden and taken away, to train in there ways. Tracking, Fuinjutsu, Combat, Non-lethal methods along with Lethal Methods of capture.
They were taught of the Shinigami and all Uzumaki Clan laws and trained to follow them and enforce them zealously, the Wardens are the Protectors of Loyal Uzumaki and Followers of the Shinigami, but are also feared by those who would betray the ways of the Clan or there Religion. They were given the name Chain Wardens because almost all Wardens have the ability to produce Chakra Chains imbued with the power of the Shinigami.
The Pain of Death to the Guilty, binding the unwilling for the Tanto of the Shinigami, instead of slicing the stomach open, the Clan Head would stab and tear with the Tanto into the stomach of the guilty and the chains hold them prone and unable to fight back or pass out from the painful ritual of punishment. Traitors are punished, for a traitor to the Uzumaki...Has betrayed there entire family. To be embraced by Death is not a Goodbye, it's a promise to see one another again once there time has come.
The Shinigami holds the souls of the Uzumaki clan to be reunited. To deny Death is to deny your family.
The Wardens are those born with the blessing of the Shinigami and are to be the Avatars of the Shinigami's strength in mortal flesh, one of the many boons of the Wardens are there special chakra chains and there appearance. Barbed hooks and a single lantern to be kept at there waist, glowing with green ethereal fire that do not burn but chill..cause intense pain to spread through there victims. The Pain of Death to the Guilty. The Lantern, to be used if a traitor takes the release of death by there own hands..or if a Warden got too overzealous..
This artifact created and passed down by the Senior Warden to the Apprentice upon passing there trials and completing there training. The Lantern calls the Traitorous souls within it and traps it inside, before being lit by the agony of the Soul trapped within, glowing a deep color depending on the level of Sin the souls carry. Crimson red is the highest offense. The Lantern is returned to the Clan Head and forces the soul to take a Tangible form so the Head may inflict the punishment upon it.

Chain Wardens are trained to be Religious Fanatics and Fiercely loyal to the Uzumaki Clan, the Ritual of Capture is once the Traitors are captured, they are to be dragged behind the Warden who holds up the Lantern to signal others to clear a path all the way through the Clan grounds, tightening the Chains and increasing the intensity of the 'flames' in order to increase there level of suffering...and to make there screams echo through to tempt the Shinigami's appetite further and prepare them for the true punishment.
Wardens are often seen as kind figures to the members of the Clan patrolling and even giving aid around the Clan Home. They are taught that all Uzumaki are Family, as such they attempt to form a bond with all Uzumaki. This also enures that betrayals are all personal to the Warden, making the hunt for the traitor as painful and as prolonged as they can before they must return the Prisoner to there punishment.


Kismet Uzumaki; The Fifth Chain Warden.
Valencia Uzumaki, Fourth Chain Warden was reaching the age where she would undertake an apprentice, a new Warden that would relieve her of her duties and one of her Clansmen is expecting soon, fitting with the time-frame proper for a Warden. The calm chill of death is also floating over the home, like a protective veil smiling for the life about to be created under it's protection. Her delicate hand is raised and the lantern flows with it, lighting with a dim white light. A signal that a new Chain Warden is to be born, walking through the Clan Home people trail after the female Warden with deep crimson hair and the ceremonial black cloak over her clothing of choice. A pair of black Shinobi pants and a green tactical vest over a black long sleeved shirt.
Coming to the home, she greets the proud Father at the door, a man named Taen Uzumaki. He smiles and opens the door for his friend Valen, who returns the smile and lays the Lantern at the doorstep..This is not a sad affair, one where the child is ripped from ones arms..It is one where the Child gains either a new Mother or Father(Depending on the Gender of the Warden.) rather then losing one. Blessed by the Shinigami, they do tend to be focused on there training which can be considered harsh..but due to the social nature of Wardens they are Family to all Uzumaki. The levels vary of course and sometimes Uzumaki who dislike the Warden and the Warden who may return the dislike are often forced together to raise a child together..But most are loyal..and those who are not, meet the Shinigami's knife.
The Third Warden was actually born from a runner, who did not want that fate for his child.
It was five years later, that particular Warden returned...newly developed chakra chains speared through his Fathers ankles.
The Shinigami works in mysterious ways...And Deaths voice reaches deep.
Walking into the home, people gathered outside to pray for the home and to greet the new Warden upon his birth. Valen stands at the bedside of the Mother and one of whom who she could call a friend rather then just Family, Kathea Uzumaki. Who immediately grasps the hand of her friend for comfort as the Medic works, Taen pacing nervously outside.
Just gonna skip the birthing process for everyones benefit, including my own. Ain't nobody need to be thinking or picturing that.
After six grueling hours, Kathea holds her son, Valen watching closely as he looks around with curious eyes..Curious eyes who have black scalara and crimson irises, strangely enough he was born with a full head of crimson hair too. He was a cute baby, looking around with a curious face while being cuddled by the pair of excited women. After allowing Kathea a few minutes with her child, Valen takes the boy after an explanation on how to hold him and can't help but let her smile widen into a grin at the boys expression of curiousity before he returns the smile with a giggle. Walking through the home, she coo's at the boy thinking of the training and the boy when he matures 'What delightful agony we shall inflict..!' She squeals causing Taen to sweatdrop and chuckle at his friends strange quirk...
He also pales and his eye twitches realizing his Son his most definitely to turn out the same way. He slumps slightly and trudges with a bit of a pout to watch his son be introduced to the Clan.

Stepping outside, Valen crosses the threshold of the door and with a brief wave of her hand she summons her lantern back to her side...And raises the boy for the masses to see eliciting a cheer and some varied reactions at the childs wide eyed stare followed by his giggle. The child is put to rest an hour later. And the family is moved, to the Warden's Grounds.
A black warehouse like home, not really a mansion and more like a very wide and long house made for the Warden's development and training.
Along with general education, the boy's development was influenced greatly by the ways of the Shinigami and the Uzumaki clan, caligraphy and Fuinjutsu was trained from the age of three into maturity, studying is to always continue..It was this particular Warden's belief that while one can be skilled in the art of Fuinjutsu one can never truly Master it as it is an art that constantly evolves and there is always more to learn from it.
As such the Art was drilled into the young man from an early age and was one major focus of Kismet Uzumaki during his development.
Kusarigama training and manifesting the Chakra Chains were also made a priority once he hit the age of five and was fit to begin training, combat training, obstacle courses, psychological profiling, philosophy and history. Physical condition, pain tolerance training. Conditioning to kill, enemies of the Uzumaki, breeding Sadism and a deep hatred for traitors of the Uzumaki clan. Cultivating a deep love for the Uzumaki clan and all it's members, creating a bond with almost every single member...and memorizing everyones name. Which is drilled into a Wardens mind, as soon as a child is born he puts a name to the face and burns it into there memory. Deep loyalty to the Clan Head is also cultivated, making the Warden almost desperate to save them if there life were to be in danger.

At Age twelve, Kismet was deemed prepared to undertake the Trials of the Warden...
Four Trials which a Warden gives there Apprentice upon there conditioning and training being complete.
The First Trial: Is simply to strengthen the bond a Warden feels to the Uzumaki...by locking them in solitary confine for two months. Sensory deprivation and the lonelieness being the harshest part of this Trial.
It's also why the Apprentice is raised with the Warden and parents there...
Suddenly ripping that comfort away and stuffing them into solitude strengthens not only those bonds, but it makes the Warden more likely to reach out to Uzumaki Clan members..Open up and be there for any Member of the family that needs there help or even just an ear or a shoulder.

The Second Trial: Is made to strengthen the Warden's psyche to be beyond torture and set up mental blocks to prevent the Warden from giving away clan secrets.
The Warden is tortured, forced under Genjutsu meant to force them to tell the truth and then comforted to make sure no lasting damage is made..This particular trial can take years to complete...Kismet Uzumaki completed it in one single year, forcing himself to go back into it time and time again. Kismet Uzumaki's conditioning was met with incredibly fierce loyalty to the Uzumaki clan, as such this Trial was of the utmost importance to him. The Genjutsu was the only thing with lasting effect and it took him a year to create Mental Blocks deemed strong enough to withstand the Genjutsu.

The Third Trial: Is the trial to show the Apprentice Warden just what will be occuring on hunts..So, the Senior Warden seals the Apprentices Chakra, strips them of clothes and all forms of weaponry and shackles there arms. Then they order there Apprentice to flee.
And then the Senior Warden hunts down the Apprentice and gives them a taste of what happens to Traitors, beating and lowly igniting the flames of there chains as there dragged back to the Clan compound. The Apprentice Warden must then meditate for three days and three nights on the experience.
Kismets chase lasted for two weeks, escaping far across the landscape, but Valen is many many years his senior and while the chase is long and arduous...She does capture him..and drags him back for another two weeks. The Apprentices conditioning is supposed to leave them with both a deep Loathing and Love for there Senior Warden who is both a torturous figure in there training...and there mentor, there second Father, second Mother if the parents are deceased there only form of Parent. Kismet felt much of the same, but a deep understanding filled him as the meditation cleared all thoughts of vengeance and allowed him to reflect..
It was not a betrayal or something she enjoyed, but this feeling he feels currently...Is how the Uzumaki clan feels towards the Wardens always.
They love them as there protectors but also fear them...And the chains they may just snag them by the ankles one day and bring indescribable suffering to them if they step out of the Clans Traditions or disprespect the Shinigami.
The Fourth Trial: Occurs merely a week after the Third Trial is complete and the Senior and Apprentice reconcile. This is the final trial and is the time with the Apprentice becomes a True Warden. The Apprentice must defeat and absorb the Seniors essence...this is the time they inherit the Shinigami's Lantern...And sentence there Senior to a slow death.
The point of this Trial is to judge of the Warden can truly traitors to his Family...even if they were once Family themselves.
To incite this Trial, the Senior Warden..must hsopitalize the Parents of the Apprentice or someone particularly close to the Apprentice. And flee, with supposed Clan secrets.
It will be up to the Apprentice to Hunt down and capture the Senior...and begin punishment..
After all is complete, the Senior, broken and most certainly on the verge of death will explain the Trial and grant them the Lantern, they will then reconcile and comfort the Apprentice and spend the last week or less depending on there condition with the now True Warden so there Apprentice may absorb there essence..And there Soul may join with the Shinigami.
