Yeah, 'cause I'm a wanderer Yeah, a wanderer I roam around, around, around
'Cause I'm a wanderer Yeah, a wanderer I roam around, around, around
'Cause I'm a wanderer Yeah, a wanderer Age: 23 Species: Human Gender: Male Appearance: When you first meet Volcri, you probably will not notice him. You will walk right by him, and barely even notice him. Volcri has take the Jūgo guideline of secrecy to heart, training himself in the art of detection. This goes from simply walking and talking in a disengaging manner, to dressing in clothing that is common place; to even masking his own chakra when he is not using it. He wears the tradition garb of the shinobi, a flak jacket and combat pants; two weapons holsters strapped onto his thighs. Over these clothes he wears a specially designed cloak, one that hides his shinobi clothing. It was designed so that while it covered his clothing, and prevented most movements from showing them, it also allowed for him to easily use his arms. Under his flak jacket is a simple cotton shirt, though it's collar extends to a mask that covers up to Volcri's eyes. He also wears a straw hat, with a low brim to cast a shadow over his face, yet it does not obstruct vision. Volcri has the traditional orange hair and red eyes, that which all of the Jūgo clan bares. He has a lean muscular build. He stands about 6' even, and ways about 180 pounds. His skin is rather pale, as he normally only travels at night and if he goes out during the day, Personality: Many in the world of Shinobi seek only to be the greatest tools for their clan, their village, their people. They seek to be the greatest ninja, and to serve with unquestionable loyalty. Volcri looks with disdain upon the shinobi who believe this principle. He believes that a shinobi should seek to better themselves in mind, body, and spirit; every part of his personality drives him to better himself. IntelligenceOne of the key aspects of his personality is his intelligence. From an early age Volcri was interested in books, scroll, and other manuscripts. He first only read fantastical or historical stories, but eventually moved towards those that focused upon the ninja arts. Slowly over the years, he has read books about all the main type of jutsu, along with manuscripts on different theories on chakra and jutsus. Though he would not claim to be an expect in any of his fields of research, but he would claim he has one of the largest databases of shinobi lore within his head. WillThe second key aspect of his personality is his will. As his parents knew there was a chance they were going to lose him on his eighth birthday, they kept separate from him, afraid what would happen if they grew attached and he choose to leave them. Because of this, Volcri had to grow up quickly, and make decisions that most kids didn't. Even once he became a shinobi, and became an adult, it was clear that Volcri knew what he wanted out of life, and would do what was necessary to achieve it. Deadly SinsAll who are human have different levels of the seven deadly sins, and Volcri is no exception. Though they are all powerful urges, Volcri has shown the ability to concentrate on the task at hand, and even go against his base urges. Lust: Lust is one of the most misrepresented of the sins, as most people assume that it equates to sexual desire, but it actually is a desire for anything. For Volcri, it is an almost overwhelming lust for power, the desire to become the strongest shinobi; also a lust for knowledge, an almost overwhelming lust to know everything that there is to know. Gluttony: Gluttony is also another misrepresented sin, as most people think that it refers simply to food, when actually it is an over-indulgence and over-consumption of anything to the point of waste; often it is interpreted as selfishness. For Volcri, it is his insatiable hunger for power, to the point where he will devour all who get in his way. He will not, and can not stop until all bow before him, or make up the bones for his throne. Greed: Greed is a rather simple sin, a deep urge for martial possessions. For Volcri, it is his urge to collect ancient texts, ancient artifacts, and powerful jutsu. He will do whatever it takes to get what he wants, even if it means harming those who would get in his way. Sloth: Sloth is a sin that is also misrepresented, mostly as is defined as physical laziness, but actually, spiritual laziness is emphasized. For Volcri it is his denial of any higher power expect for himself, the miracles of faith are simply pipe dream disillusions. Volcri will show all of the pretender gods what happens when their lies are exposed. Wrath: Wrath is the one sin that everyone understands. It is inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger, and at it's purest form presents self-destructiveness and violence. For Volcri, this sin is the most obvious, for his very bloodline carries the taint of wrath. The much training, he has learned to hone it into a tool, but even for him, there are times where he just needs to simply lose it to cool down. Envy: Envy is often thought of as simply jealousy, but this is not so. Jealousy is simply the feeling of discontent towards someone's traits, status, abilities, or rewards; Envy is also to desire the entity and covet it. For Volcri, it is his desire to own everything, to control everything. Whether it is a simple kunai just bought from a store, or a hidan technique that has been based down for generations, Volcri wants it, and feels spite towards those who have it. Pride: Pride is thought to be the original sin, and one of the most powerful. It is a very simple sin too, as it is just the overwhelming thought that you are better then everyone else, one could call it an all consuming love for yourself; one that pushes away any other love. For Volcri the sin of pride is obvious: he views everyone as lesser beings, mere tools and pawns in his grand scheme of things. SociopathUnderneath all of the base human desires, all of the sins and emotions, lurks a dark and dangerous predator within Volcri. He still has all of his intelligence and all of his will, but gone are the limits that are the human emotion. Volcri likens himself to a snake that still bares the remains of a previous skin, not yet able to shed it and take on it's full power. As of now, his emotions cloud his judgement, but even now he is occasionally able to dampen them, to allow his full potential to show through. Eventually, Volcri plans on ridding himself of the vile human emotions, to ascend to greater heights, to shed the skin of humanity, and reveal his true form. Background/History: - Childhood:
Volcri was born as many are, which meant it involved screaming, blood, and lots of curse words. Sadly though, in this case, the birth of one life meant the end of another, as Volcri's mother died giving birth to him. Volcri's father was a member of the Jūgo Anbu, which meant that due to his circumstance, Volcri was raised within the Jūgo Anbu Compound, hidden deep in the ruins of Kumogakure. As he was raised, his father always kept his distance, knowing that his son might choose the life of trade, and that coupled with the fact he was an elite shinobi of the Jūgo clan, he knew the chances of him seeing his son grow up were slim. Because of this, and the general lack of children, as Jūgo Anbu normally did not have kids, Volcri was left to his own devices; not to mention he was never taught the normal social graces that other kids were, and always had to take care of himself.
Mostly all of his time was spent in the clan's library, a collection of texts on different jutsu, jutsu theories, medical practices, history, and all sorts of other manuscripts thought to be of use to increase the power of the Jūgo clan. One text that stood out was a small scroll, on unusual summoning contracts. Most summoning contracts are with creatures whose abilities compliment an individual or clan's abilities; and are done with bugs, mammals, reptiles, etc... But there are a few that were done with more mystical creatures: undead creatures, over sized versions of regular creatures, and even more fantastic creatures. Most of them have a contracted listed, and a general location for the contract. But at the end of the scroll, was the most fearsome and deadly of all the creatures, considered the apex predator: the legendary wyverns. So deadly were they, that there was not even a known contract with them, and the general location was an entire mountain range in some unnamed distant land. From the day he looked over that scroll, he knew what he wanted to do: he wanted to be the first to sign a summoning contract with the fearsome wyverns.
About a year before his eighth birthday, the day when a Jūgo clan member decides what to do with his life, Volcri had finished reading ever text within the library, and had reread several of them. He focused all of his time now on the practice of the art of the shinobi.
- Ninja Years:
Upon his eighth birthday, Volcri declared the path of the shinobi without hesitation, causing many in the compound to be surprised, seeing the once book worm so adamant in his decision. Even with just a year of preparation, Volcri was still light years ahead of most starting Jūgo ninja. He spent all of his free time training, while other budding ninja spent time reading up on jutsu. Volcri espesially focused on his Kekkei Genkai, the Sage Transformation; which most of the budding ninja stayed away from, only using it to prevent their Jūgo Shinobi Curse Marks from activating.
As he slowly grew into his teenage years, he already had a handle on using his curse mark, never once having it activate, while the rest of the learning ninja had lost control several times. It was never a matter of slowly raising threw the ranks for him, as he was always clearly on top. By the time he was thirteen, he already was graduated to a full Jūgo shinobi, but also was already being given missions, some of which where solo.
- Shinobi Years:
As Volcri grew within the shinobi ranks, it became apparent that he had certain... issues. It was not that he was not loyal to the Jūgo clan, and he always completed his missions. It was mostly that he seemed to lack empathy for anyone, and did not care for any team mates. Due to this, most of the other shinobi stay away from him, even his own dad. When he was merely fifteen, a report came in on a botched mission, that Volcri's dad had failed, and payed with his life. When he had heard the news, he merely commented that it was a shame the mission was failed, and elected to go and attempt to complete it.
Now that he was an accomplished shinobi, Volcri once more spent time within the library, but this time it was to work on creating jutsu. Now that he was advanced, he was allowed access to more advanced martial, including texts on Juinjutsu, curse marks, including the one that he bore upon his hand, linking him to the clan. He slowly started to study Juinjutsu and Fuinjutsu, eventually becoming one of the few masters of the art within his clan.
As he continued to perform his duties to his clan, he slowly started to see that his clan was weak, hiding in the shadows, when they could be making an impact upon the surface. He started to take into note that most of the missions he undertook were simple ones, mostly Intel gathering, never ones that would advance the clan. As he reached adulthood, Volcri realized that not only was the clan not growing, but if he wanted to continue to grow, he would have to find some way to leave. Using his knowledge of Fuinjutsu and Juinjutsu, he developed a method of which one could not only transfer seals, but could also transfer curse marks.
The night before he left, Volcri raided the library taking several key texts on Fuinjutsu and Juinjutsu, along with texts on Iryō Ninjutsu (medical); the last scroll he took was the one contain what little information there was on wyverns. The next morning, Volcri headed out on a mission, tasked with the assassination of a minor crime lord who was shaking down Jūgo traders. Right before he killed the man, he used his transfer technique to transfer the Jūgo Shinobi Curse Mark to the man. Upon killing him, he locked the man in a building, and set it aflame, and then ran to avoid the Jūgo from discovering his desertion.
- Wanderings:
Now that Volcri was a free man, he decided it was time to start increasing his power. Using the stolen Iryō Ninjutsu texts from the Jūgo compounded, he started practicing his medical skills. His common tactic was, as he was wandering, was to attack stragglers and lone travelers, take them back to a cave, and experiment upon them. To make this easier, he created a curse mark designed only to paralyze the person, making it so they could not move, though they can still speak. Eventually his understanding of Iryō Ninjutsu was good enough that he started working on other factors.
Ever now and then, he would lose control, causing him to have to figure a way to control his anger. He no longer had access to the Jūgo Shinobi Curse Mark, nor did he know how it worked; but he did know the formula for the Jūgo Curse Mark, as it was branded into his mind when he was simply a newborn. Though only problem with it, was that it sealed, not stored, his natural energy, filtered the absorption to a very low amount, and was a tracker for the Jūgo Anbu. This caused Volcri to look into the manipulations of existing Curse Marks. In one of the stolen Juinjutsu texts, there was a theory that it was possible, though only on curse marks created with your own chakra. Using his paralysis curse mark, he started to manipulate the very structure of it, using another lone traveler as a test subject. He discovered that it was possible, to a point. When you create a curse mark, there is a set amount of chakra that goes into it, and within that the matrix of abilities is set. Because of this, there is only so many manipulations that can occur, and if you want to do a major change, you have to eliminate some of the powers. To test his theory, he applied the Jūgo Curse Mark to himself, and then focused his chakra. He slowly worked upon it, changing the way the curse mark worked. He removed the tracking ability all together, and then using the now 'empty' part of the matrix, removed the filter, and changed it from sealing, to storing; the last change was so that if the curse mark activated, it did not increase the amount of natural energy he absorbed so that he would rage forever, and also that once he had exhausted his natural energy, the mark would reform, allowing him to use it.
Unfortunately, even with this modified curse mark, he still risked raging, and losing control. In his reading of history books in the Jūgo compound, he had read about a group of fighters known as the berserkers, who would use their rage to fight, though they were able to concentrate it, and use it more as a tool, and not lose control. Only the approximate location of their village was given, so Volcri had a lot of ground to cover. Over the course of a year, Volcri had tracked down where the old village was. It was in ruins, barely noticeable as a village. He spent the next six months searching ever building, all the outlaying land marks, for some hint to the techniques that they used. Eventually, he found a cave that had markings similar to the ruins. The deeper he went, the more it became apparent that this was some sort of temple they had built. He searched the temple, not finding anything until he got to the altar room. Carved upon the altar, was the method of controlling rage, in near perfect condition. Pulling an empty scroll out, he slowly copied the altar down, making sure that everything was correct. As soon as he was done, he used the Piston Fist Jūgo KKG jutsu to smash the altar, making it so he had the only copy of the technique. Once he exited the cave, he also smashed the ceiling, causing a cave in. For the next four months, Volcri spent his time perfecting the ability, allowing him to control over his rage. Though it was not perfect control, it allowed him to focus the rage upon a single target, and it taught him a way that he could end his rage early, but by expending large amounts of chakra. With the last two months of the year, he worked out a way that allowed him to expend the remaining natural chakra instead, allowing him to use his other abilities. After roughly two years, Volcri had finally 'mastered' his rage.
Now that he had gathered enough information, he set off to discover the land of the wyverns, using only the scroll that he had stolen from the Jūgo compound. The exact location was not known, nor was even the land known, only rumors of where it was. He followed each one, each one giving him only a mere part of the puzzle, and leading him to other rumors, which he followed likewise. Slowly Volcri started to get an idea of where the wyverns lived, and after nearly a year of searching, he eventually discovered the exact mountain range that they lived on. He spent the next several months observing the wyverns, trying to figure out the best way to approach them. It seemed they had a hierarchy similar to some warrior societies, where the strongest one was the leader. Volcri figured that the bast way to gain their trust, was to walk right up to them, and issue a challenge to the leader. The morning of the challenge, Volcri made no aims to hide his presence, and could feel eyes watching him. He was a bit confused when he say not a single wyvern try to stop him, and his confusion was dispelled upon meeting the wyvern king Salzur. It seems that even with his hiding, the wyverns were able to track him, using some sort of blind-sense ability that mimicked a powerful sensory jutsu. When asked why he was there, he declared his challenge, a fight against the king, if he won he got a summoning contract, and if the king won, he could do as he pleased. The king laughed at this, which caused Volcri some confusion. It seemed once wyverns reached a certain age, their bodies changed, turning them from warriors to something akin to sages. Because of this, they no longer took part in battle, instead they declare a tournament, and a warrior is chosen as the king's first lieutenant. Ever several years the tournament is reheld, along with if the current first lieutenant is killed, and a new one is chosen. The king told him that he could stay the year with them, to train, as the next year there was going to be a tournament, and he could compete in that. If he won that, the king would grant Volcri a summoning contract. Volcri accepted, and over the course of the year, he trained with the wyverns, increasing his skills. When it came time for the tournament, Volcri learned something the king had left out: that it was to the death. When he questioned the king, the king simply laughed, asking what he expected. Anything but a fight to the death would not show the true skills of a warrior; the king then taunted him by asking if he wanted to step down from the tournament, they could just kill him now. Volcri refused, and continued with the tournament. With his year of training, he had almost mastered fighting wyverns, and was able to defeat many of them. Eventually it came down to him vs the current first lieutenant, who had easily won against his brethren. Though Volcri had fought wyverns, he never fought the first lieutenant, nor did he fight anyone close to his skill. At first it seemed he had almost no chance to beat the first lieutenant, has even the strikes, blows, and jutsus that did hit didn't do much. When he realized what he needed to do, Volcri used his curse mark to purposefully go into Sage Transformation Second State. With this, his power was increased, and with his berserker training, he was able to focus it all onto the first lieutenant. The final blow came when Volcri used the Chakra Blast Cannons Jūgo KKG jutsu, killing off the first lieutenant. He then used his axe arm to chop the head off, combined with a finishing blow to end his rage; holding it up to all, showing that he had officially taken the title of first lieutenant. The king honored their agreement, and signed a summoning contract with Volcri. The king knew that Volcri wanted to leave, so he offered him a deal. He would be allowed to freely come and go as he pleased, as long as he used all of his knowledge to advance the wyverns, and kept their location a secret. Volcri agreed, as he could use is knowledge of Iryō Ninjutsu to give the wyverns a new edge in any aspect.
- On the run:
After his time in the Land of Wyvern's, Volcri returned to the known lands of ninja, to continue his research into jutsus. Unfortunately, all was not as it would seem. Though he was known as dead to his clan, it seemed there was a small group within the Jūgo Clan who thought he might still be alive. All during his time in the Land of Wyvern's, they had been searching for him, of course to no avail. They had almost given up their search when he reentered the known lands of ninja, and caught wind of his presence. Though it is not exactly known, but it seems they used an age progressed drawing from the age eighteen to the age twenty two, even though not much change could happen.
For several days, Volcri did not even know someone was on his tail, as he was too busy musing over his time in the Land of Wyvern's. Eventually though, he became aware that something was not right. Using his new summoning contract, he summoned a midsized wyvern. These sized wyverns were trained in stealth, as they were not big enough yet to be good fighters. Before he sent him off, he applied a seal to the wyvern's head, one that would allow him to see what the wyvern saw, including the use of the wyvern's 'blindsense' ability. Using the seal required the person to be completely still, and caused the person to lose their natural sensory abilities in their body, so he also created a shadow clone to guard his body.
Activating the seal, he was able to look through the eyes of the wyvern. Slowly he followed it's presence through the forest they were in, into a small clearing, where some shinobi were camped, all using the wyvern's blindsense. As the wyvern got close enough to see them with it's eyes, it became clear to Volcri just who these shinobi were: Jūgo Anbu. Volcri activated the second part of the seal, which unsummoned the wyvern. Volcri knew that if he killed them, simply more would follow, so instead he decided to try and out run them.
As he fled, he decided to go where they would not expect, towards Kumogakure and the Jūgo compound. Unfortunately, he was unable to evade the Jūgo Anbu, who are masters in tracking down rouge ninja. As he neared the mountains of Kumogakure, he knew he would have to take them down. He was unsure whether or not they had discovered that he knew they were there, so he became ready for anything.
Volcri set up a fake ambush, in an attempt to throw them off if they knew he knew they were there. As they got to the spot, they easily dodged the pit fall trap. What they did not know, was that hidden underground, was clones of Volcri, who reached through the earth, grabbed their legs, and placed the paralyzation curse mark upon them. With that in place, Volcri activated the marks, causing the four shinobi to fall to the ground. He walked over to the shinobi, and used the Jūgo Clan KKG jutsu Destroying Axe Fist to chop their heads off.
Before one of them died, he whispered something to Volcri, that they knew who he was, and they would be coming for him. Volcri finished him off, though he knew what the shinobi said was true, the Jūgo Clan would search for him. It was at this time that he got the feeling he was being watched. Looking around he saw someone at the edge of the clearing, simply watching him.
- A new start:
The man was thin body, and his arms and legs were long. His chest and abdomen seem to fit the archetype that a masculine body would be, being almost triangular in shape. His shoulders are broader than his abdomen, but not overly so. He is of above average height, at 6'2"
The man was wearing black pants, with a dark blue sleeveless vest, and an overcoat of a middle blue color. The man's face seemed to have an aristocratic feel to it, with sharp features. His hair is thick and white, and was swept back in spikes. His eyes were a strange shade of blue almost gray in color. Volcri was unsure of who the man was, not sure if he was a mercenary that the Jūgo Clan had hired for support.
As soon as the man started walking towards him, Volcri got into a defensive position, not sure what was coming next. As the man got close to him, he said something Volcri was not expecting. He said he heard what the dead shinobi said, and that Volcri would probably be found again. He offered Volcri a deal, that if Volcri would become a member of the Shikyo Clan, and became a solider for him, then the man would offer him asylum, and help hide his presence.
Volcri knew that this man was not the type to do this out of the kindness of his heart, and asked why the man would offer this; the man responded that he was always looking for new tools, and that he was interested in the ax Volcri had used. Volcri knew that if he did not accept, he might be signing a death warrant, and that possibly having a clan's resources at his disposal would come in handy. Volcri accepted the man's offer, becoming a shinobi tool for the clan.
Clan: Shikyo Clan (Born into Jūgo Clan) Rank: Solider (Unofficially Dead [See History for More information]) Tier: A-1 or A-2 KKG: Sage Transformation Items: - Jutsu:
Name: Modified Jūgo Curse Mark Rank: B Type: Fuuinjutsu, Sage Transformation KKG Description: This curse mark is placed upon Volcri's hand.
- The curse mark can store 1000 units of natural energy
- Half of the natural energy that Volcri absorbs goes into this mark
- If the mark reaches 1001 or more, it activates, causing Volcri to rage (see Jūgo Clan page for more infor)
How it looks Once the curse mark reaches 100 units, small, faint lines start to radiate out of the mark. For ever 100 units after the lines start to become more defined, and darken. Once it reaches 500 units, the lines start to travel up the arm. Once it reaches 1500 units it starts to travel across the chest. Once it reaches 900 units, the mark starts to actually burn, causing pain. It hurt the most at the site of the mark, and as it travels the lines it starts to dull. Once it reaches 1000 units, the pain is agonizing. Once the curse mark activates the two halves come to together, creating a circle, and the circle turns pure white; which clearly stands out against the light or dark grey hue that the skin takes once transformed. The lines start to radiate with natural energy, causing them to lightly glow green. Once Volcri has used up all of his natural energy, the lines fade away, and the two halves split apart.
Volcri also knows all of the Jūgo Clan kkg jutsu. The paralyzation curse mark will be applied for on my jutsu page, but will already be known (i want to keep them all together) Abilities/Perks:(Special abilities that your char has. This can be anything. Explain thoroughly, and add the level of ability it is; minor, intermediate, major etc.) Berserker Training- intermediate - Due to his training, Volcri has learned to focus the rage towards and opponent. When he goes into a rage from over usage of his KKG, he is able to ignore any close allies, and focus on opponents. When there are no more opponents though, he will turn upon his allies. The second part of his training, is the ability to focus all of his natural energy into one attack, which not only increases the power of the attack, but also effectively ends it. When using this part of the ability, for every two natural energy units that is used for an attack, it increases one force stat (heat, cutting, etc) by one. The only exception is chakra force, where it is a one to one conversion. When using this ability, Volcri can only increase one force stat. Upon completing the jutsu, Volcri would take all the penalties of raging, as per the rules on the Jūgo Clan page. First Lieutenant of the Wyvern's- major - Volcri is the only human to have won the Wyvern's contest to decide a new first lieutenant. Due to this, all of the Wuverns look up to him, and follow him with pride. The effect of this is that any Wyvern summon that Volcri uses, they are harder to turn against him then normal. Any jutsu to turn a wyvern summon against him, has to be used by a shinobi with three times as much chakra as Volcri, literally wrestling control from him. Also due to his time with the wyverns, Volcri has +100 reaction speed towards flying opponents larger then a small bird. This is due to his ability to anticipate how a flying enemy will attack. NOTE: This simply allows him to notice and judge what an opponent will do, not actually dodge an attack. Fuinjutsu Modification- major - Due to his study of Fuinjutsu, and how they are made, Volcri was able to learn a way to modify curse marks, already placed. Enable to do this, he first has to place his hand directly over the mark, and have skin to skin contact with it. He then focus a large amount of chakra into the curse mark, slowly mapping out how it works. This takes three posts, and Volcri must have uninterrupted contact during this time. Once he has mapped out the abilities (effectively giving IC knowledge of the jutsu app) he is able to change them. A curse mark has a finite chakra matrix, meaning that for anything to be added, something else must be lost. This also means for something to be increased, another thing must be removed. Any modifications take two posts, and consume 100 chakra points from Volcri. Upon making a single modification, Volcri's chakra overrides the chakra of the original person to place the mark. Upon completing all changes, it takes another three posts for Volcri to seal back up the chakra matrix, which takes another 100 chakra points from Volcri. NOTE: All changes have to have mod approval, to prevent misuse of this ability. | |
